About Evan

Dad and Son

Perhaps best known as the host of TLC’s Emmy Nominated hit show While You Were Out for four seasons, Evan Farmer first made entertainment news in 1998 with his portrayal of the central character “Jerry O’Keefe” in MTV’S first made-for-television movie chronicling the spoof-boy-band 2GE+HER’s rise to fame, for which he also recorded lead vocals on the soundtrack and follow up certified platinum album. The group went on to produce a television series and music videos, two of which were in the top ten of all requested videos for the year 2000. The band solidified their success by sharing the stage on the Britney Spears “Oops I did It Again Tour.”

Highlights of Evan’s other work includes: Shaft Returns, Austin Powers 3, JAG, The David Alan Grier Show (D.A.G), and The Fantasticks-Off Broadway. Evan has also appeared as a re-curing Guest Host of MTV’s Total Request Live, Host and Designer of HGTV’s Freestyle, as well as hosting shows for networks including: VH1, E!, and WE. He has also been heard as the voice of several characters on MTV’s Daria, and Celebrity DeathMatch.

Ask Evan about the greatest role of his life though, and he’ll quickly tell you it’s being a DAD! Equally passionate about mastering his own (soon to be patented) one-handed diaper technique as he is about dramatic bed-time story readings, infant-nutrition, and the newest and safest products for children, Evan has found his highest calling.

“The minute my son was born, my focus turned 100% to everything parenting. Everything I read, everything I do, and just about every thought I have in some way relates to being the best Dad I can be. I’m that guy you overhear discussing emergency choking techniques, the newest sippy cup design, and the latest product recalls ad nauseam.”

Evan can be currently seen each weekend hosting CMT’s Top 20 Countdown and as the host of the new DIY Network show Door Knockers.

As a preschool teacher/infant caregiver, I cannot begin to emphasize the importance of child safety. No, I am not a parent yet, but that does not stop me from worrying like one when I am caring for the children that I and my coworkers are entrusted with.
Evan, I have been a longtime fan and wish you all the best with your family and future projects. Hope to see you on television again, soon.
